A Waltco liftgate motor is either a 12 or 24-volt direct current (DC) motor that is assembled with the pump to form what is called the power unit of your Waltco liftgate.
The main function of a Waltco liftgate motor is to take the electric power from the vehicle supply and transform it into mechanical energy that is then transferred to the liftgate pump. This is what allows the pump to move the platform up and down.
The Waltco liftgate motor is typically compact and cylindrical, designed for standard and heavy-duty applications. It is housed in a sturdy case that protects the internal components from environmental factors and physical damage since it is usually made of materials like stainless steel or aluminum.
