How to find liftgate parts

Finding liftgate parts can be tricky, but we're here to help!  We've created a step-by-step guide to assist in this process.  As a general rule of thumb, if you do not have a part number we will need a serial number to assist.

Part manuals are helpful, but unless you are certain that is the exact manual for your gate it is best to include the serial number and model when ordering.

Check the part for numbers

If you're lucky enough, there will be a valid part number on the item you're looking for.  Try typing these numbers into our search box at the top of the page to see if this is a valid number.
What is a valid number you ask?  This will vary by manufacturer, but here's a general rule of thumb so you don't waste time.

Maxon Part Numbers

Maxon parts,  such as Maxon Liftgate solenoids and switches, will have a number that is about six consecutive digits long and may then have a dash with two or three numbers following.
Examples of valid number sequence:   264346   OR   268866-01

Waltco Part Numbers

Waltco parts are usually seven or eight consecutive digits long and may also contain a dash proceeded by one or two numbers.
Examples of valid number sequence: 80000425 or 7043001-1

Palfinger Part Numbers

Palfinger part number have historically started with a "P-" proceeded by seven digits.
Palfinger has upgraded their number system beginning around 2017.  Part numbers may now contain two letters proceeded by multiple dashed numbers.
Examples of valid number sequence:  pm-50-0709-954

Thieman Part Numbers

Part numbers are relatively short and may only be 4 digits, but can be up to 8.

Serial number needed

The serial numbers it your golden ticket for us to assist.  If you do not have a part number we need the serial number - without it you will not be guaranteed to receive the correct item.  There are VERY few exceptions to this rule.

Can't find the serial number?

There will be a lot more work if a serial number cannot be found.  We will need measurements and pictures of the liftgate and the specific item you are looking for.
